Backstreet Boys - Black & Blue - 2000

Black & Blue is the follow-up album to the Backstreet Boys' 1999 studio release Millennium. It is their fourth album (but their third U.S. album release). The 13-song selection features five songs co-written by members of the group, plus two songs written by all five members. In the United States, Black & Blue sold 1.6 million discs in its first week of release^[1], making them the first group in Soundscan history to have million-plus first-week sales with back-to-back albums. The album was the eighth highest-selling album ^[2] in the US in 2000. The album achieved platinum status in over 30 countries and gold certification in 10 regions around the world during its first week of release. Despite the excellent sales, Black and Blue never matched up to the hype that their first two albums made. The first single off the album was "Shape of My Heart," followed by "The Call" and "More Than That." The band members co-wrote five of the songs and wrote two songs on this album, a departure from previous albums, which showcased less of their own song-writing, Black & Blue has been estimated as selling between 15-24 million albums worldwide ^[3][4], and topped the album charts in five countries^[5].

Millennium is an album by American pop music group Backstreet Boys. It broke numerous records, and is their biggest success to date. It was a highly anticipated follow-up to both their United States debut album, and their second internationally released CD. It was their first record to be released in both the U.S. and internationally in the same form, at the same time. In the United States, it holds the record for most shipments in one year, with 11 million in 1999. It was nominated for five Grammy Awards and spawned four Top 40 singles, including worldwide smash hit single "I Want It That Way." Millennium set a record for most albums sold in its debut week. It also set the record for most albums sold internationally in one week with 2.2 million, and was certified at least platinum in 45 countries, and has sold 40 million copies worldwide.^[1]

Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing - 2007

The Best Damn Thing is the third studio album by Canadian pop punk singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne, released on April 13, 2007. It made its radio debut on Ottawa radio station HOT 89.9 at 6:00 p.m. on April 14.

The album's first single was the number-one hit "Girlfriend", the second "When You're Gone", and the third "Hot". "The Best Damn Thing" is the fourth and final single on this album. The track "Keep Holding On" is also featured on the Eragon soundtrack. According to the IFPI, globally The Best Damn Thing was the fourth biggest selling album and Sony BMG's biggest selling album of 2007. It is the first of her albums to earn a Parental Advisory label, but the label is only shown on the limited and deluxe editions of the album.

Under My Skin is the second studio album by Canadian rocker singer Avril Lavigne, released on May 25, 2004 in the North America by Arista Records. In its first week of release, it reached number one on the Billboard 200, Australian ARIA Albums Chart and UK Albums Chart. Avril Lavigne - Let Go - 2002

Let Go is the debut album by Canadian Pop Rock singer Avril Lavigne, released on June 4, 2002.^[5] It was highly successful, received four Grammy nominations for this album and its singles, being certified platinum six times in the United States, five times in United Kingdom, seven times in Australia, four times in New Zealand, and once in Japan. In Canada it received a diamond award for surpassing sales of 1 million in less than a year (11 months). As of May 2008, Let Go has sold over 18 million copies worldwide.^[6] Lavigne recorded a song called "Let Go", but it was never put in the album. Audioslave - Revelations - 2006

Revelations is the third and, with the departure of lead vocalist Chris Cornell in February 2007, final studio album by American rock band Audioslave. The album was released on September 5, 2006 in the U.S., and a day earlier in the UK (see 2006 in music). Brendan O'Brien, who has produced or mixed the albums of numerous major rock acts of the past twenty years, including Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring, Pearl Jam, Incubus, and Bruce Springsteen, was at the helm for this record. Audioslave had 20 songs written (a few of which were sampled during their 2005 tour),^[1] and returned to the studio in early January to finish recording them.
